A luxurious Maldives resort is offering up major dream holiday fodder with a new year-long stay offer for holidaymakers.

The Anantara Veli Maldives Resort has launched an 'Unlimited Stays in Paradise' where you pay a one-time fee and then stay at the resort for as long as you like (well, up to a year).

We're talking a year in one of its incredible Over Water Bungalows with direct views of those turquoise ocean waters, daily breakfast, and savings on the resort's fine dining restaurants and spa, as well as access to the dreamy pool, yoga classes and fitness centre. Then of course, there are those white sand beaches!

The catch? You're going to need to pay the fee upfront, and it's $30,000 (approx £22,761). That includes any number of nights between the 1st January to 23rd December 2021.

Tempted to spend a year in the Maldives?

If you want to dream that it's something you could consider, think of it this way; that works out at £63.75 a night for two people, so it's approximately £32pp a night if you stay the whole time.

Yes, this doesn't help as the amount still needs to be paid upfront but it doesn't hurt to dream a little, does it?

Anyone who wants to book the Unlimited Stays in Paradise deal will need to do so by Monday 30th November - you can find out more on anantara.com.

It's not quite clear how a stay of this length works in terms of a tourist visa - currently you can get a 30-day tourist visa when you arrive in the Maldives. (You can find out more information about the visas in the Foreign Office travel advice ).

For those of us who don't have a casual £22k lying around to spend on a holiday, the silver lining is that there are ways to explore the Maldives without completely breaking the bank. To give you a helping hand, we've rounded up some top tips for finding cheap Maldives holidays.
