Loose Women paid a touching tribute to the ITV show's former warm-up comedian Ian Royce.

Ian tragically died aged 51 from "severe pneumonia and multiple organ failure" earlier this week.

A statement on his Twitter page, written by his daughter Roxanne, told that he was surrounded by loved ones when he died.

Addressing his death on Loose Women, panelist Andrea McLean said: "We would like to send our very best wishes to the family of Ian Royce, who sadly passed away yesterday.

"Roycey was our warm-up man here on Loose Women a few years ago, he was part of the family behind the scenes at ITV - he did warm-up for many of the prime time shows.

"You at home may have known and loved him, may have even been in the audience so would have seen him in action.

"We just wanted to say that he will be very sadly missed and our thoughts are with his family."

Ant & Dec, close mates of the funnyman, offered their sympathies yesterday, writing: "We are sorry to hear of the passing of Ian 'Roycey' Royce.

"He was an integral part of the #BGT team for many years. Our thoughts are with his beloved Roxy and all his family.

"RIP Roycey. We'll never forget you. X."

Ian had performed as a warm-up act for both BGT and The? X Factor.

Last year he thanked Ant & Dec for helping to foot the bill for his rehab stint at The Priory, and credited them, as well as other friends and his girlfriend, with saving his life.

BGT judge Amanda Holden ?likewise sent her condolences: "So sad to hear this darling. Thinking of you and your mum."
